Right now it is a NO for me...since the decline of pvp there really is nothing in GW to work toward. For a free to play game it was alright I guess, but it will take far more for me next time around. GW just hands everything to everyone on a silver platter. Grind should not be mandatory, but it should be a component IMO. To me a game is best when there are still secrets to discover, levels to reach or uber rare items to work toward. At least PVP kept me playing hardcore for a while, but that ended when the Koreans left IMO.

Keep in mind the game is three years old. Everything that was a secret should have been discovered now.

Perhaps "maybe" will tell you that some/most users do not have enough information or trust in anet to make a decision right now. The world is not on/off, black/white etc, its shades of grey. Yes or no assumes that thats all the answers to be found in your question, where clearly it is not.
As for secrets, I assume they mean new ideas, techniques, etc to be found in the metagame and thru skill changes. We don't necessarily know what is up Anets sleeve right now.

Those shades are still on a positive and negative basis meaning that they're closer to Yes or No and not totally in a neutral zone. This all hypothetical, we don't need to know what's up Anet's sleeve.

QFT.
I'll of course buy it, but this is probably the one single thing that ruined the game for me. Emphasized on one character development, which isn't my type of game at all, especially when the awards were worthless. I know you could say "then just don't do em", but i'm a sucker for em. Almost every other aspect of the game, I was okay with.

I disagree...many other mmo type games have been around far longer and still have many areas rarely seen and/or unsolved quests. GW has never had any secrets that took any amount of time to solve. A perfect example is when DOA first came out, the community went absolutely crazy, saying it was too difficult, its impossile, etc. I remember Gaile Gray telling everyone to be patient and try to solve it, but guess what happened, they dumbed it down to satisfy the people who want everything right now. When I think of an elite area, I believe that only a small percentage of the players should ever see it finished, but thats just my opinion. Oh, and by no means do I think that I would necessarily be in that small percentage, but at least I could work toward it

I give my applause for those who did Domain of Anguish before any PvE only skills, those are the people who had skill. You could say Guild Wars had secret areas before PvE only skills.

I'm neutral on GW2 until
A) I see more information
or
B) By some magic, I get in on the beta.
Neutral. not Yes, not No.

There is now a 'maybe' option. Of sorts.

I'm on the fence. I need more info (confirmed info, not speculation) before I decide.

Is there a thread somewhere that says: what you want and don't want in GW2?

No, because we don't even know what will be in it so there's no point.

I probably will HOWEVER if they announce a ridiculous level cap or other stupid things like, no instanced areas, title based skills, the end of the 8 skill system, etc. I won't.

Ill get it, day of release, I've played about 2500 hours on gw one, that's money well spent, for even a few 200/300 id buy gw 2, as long as it still doesn't have a monthly fee.

What you said as level 20 isn't really level 20 material per se. There are plenty of lvl 20 folks that are n00b to the core, thanks to the fast-leveling in Factions/semi-fast of NF. Most of them couldn't even attempt to do FoW or UW because they are so n00b. The game really starts after level 20, tbh.
Anyway, I enjoy sitting on the fence. I am starting to feel worried after the 15-month lack of info, especially since we are only 3-6 months from beta. But they can fix many, many things about GW and, most importantly, make a satisfying, long-lasting PvE game. I have hopes and worries.

I don't. Do you know what was being ran way back when? SF eles/Obsidian Tanks/SS/etc. It was almost as restrictive as UB for UB has a title restraint, whereas the other had both profession and build restraint. Not sure which is better, though. The only thing they had was patience (which couldn't be spared for n00bs and paragons/ritualists/dervishes/mesmers/rangers).

I think people are much too worried about Anet screwing the game up. I think they have learned much from Guild Wars and those same flaws will not be in Guild Wars 2, plus we'll see many new things. New has usually been an exciting part of Guild Wars to me.

I'm still voting no, because if the game came out now, that would be my response. Unless I had a lot of recommendations from people I know playing, I don't intend to play. Although if the organized PvP does end up looking very interesting, that view could change.

Umm, if I could re-vote, and now that there actually is a "maybe" option, I would change my answer to that.
So, how could I re-vote?
